"A Night Without Adversity"
What an amazing day! It began with a gathering at Kristen's home. Our planning committee, board members, and friends met and loaded up trucks with all the silent auction items, centerpiece baskets, t-shirts, etc. They worked for hours making the event spectacular!
As they were off to Silverleaf Club, Erik, Clyde, and I packed up for a day of rock climbing at Pinnacle Peak. We met up with Phoenix locals Brian O'Connor and Paul Dief. The picture on the left is Erik and Kevin on the summit of "Varicose Vein". Erik led the route and belayed Kevin to the top. The picture on the right is Erik on the face of "Dead Meat" while Paul belays him to the top. The bottom photo is Brian getting off the ground on his first route. What an amazing day of rock climbing in Phoenix with great friends and gorgeous weather!
After climbing for several hours and cleaning up, we were off to the Silverleaf Club for an incredible event representing four wonderful organizations. We arrived at 5:00 pm and the weather was perfect. Kevin, Kristen, and Erik had time for a photo before the festivities began.
The kid volunteers, board members and planning committee members greeted our guests as they arrived and the AZ Humane Society dogs were on display for adoption. Kristen is holding Dexter.

Following cocktails and appetizers on the lawn, we all gathered for an amazing dinner. The table decorations and centerpiece baskets were incredible.

During dinner, Erik gave us a funny, sincere, and emotional presentation that will forever have an impact on all of our lives. It was a presentation and evening we will all remember!

Kristen and I want to thank each and every one of you for an incredible evening. ALL of us, put this entire event together in less than 3 months and it took a lot of support and hard work from many people.
We had over 270 guests enjoy a wonderful evening! Some of them had the following to say about K2 Adventures Foundation first event:
~ My wife and I wish to extend our sincere thanks for including us in your event. It was wonderful. A testament to your skills and above all character.
~ It’s Feb 20th and we are all still alive! WooHoo! Nicely done guys.
~ Great job to Kevin and Kristen and everyone! Great event!
~ My wife and I are so blown away!
~ Thank you for a great evening. You all should be very proud of all you've accomplished in such a short time.
~ Thank you for allowing me to be part of such an inspiring event. It is a really great group of people.
~ It seems like Kevin and Kristin have a great partnership. I don't know if people realize all of the man-hours it takes to provide an event such as yours. Plus you handled yourself with calm confidence given two unforeseen circumstances; ie...the sound going out at the movie and the illness of the guest last night. I hope you are giving yourself some much deserved time to reflect on your success.
~ Congratulations on a beautiful event last evening. My guest and husband and I had a great evening.
~ Hello Kevin and Kristen, congratulations! You did an amazing job and I hope you raised a lot of money for your organization. What an inspiration! Erik is beyond being extraordinary and it was so enjoyable. My friends were very impressed. Again, fabulous and thank you!
~ Thank you both, for a wonderful evening! Everything was amazing! All of your hard work truly made it extra special!
~ It was well done…had a good time!
~ I just wanted to let you know that your event last evening for K2 Adventures Foundation was fantastic. The organizations you support do such great work.
~ The party was unbelievable! My mom called the next morning to rave about the whole event - everything from the venue to the organization of the auction, to the choice of charities, the whole deal. Says she is on board for a table purchase next time. I hope you are really proud- and relieved!
~ You guys did an awesome job on Friday night! Well done! I heard so many people remark on what a wonderful event it was and how they were truly inspired by both Erik's words and your hard work in bringing everything together so beautifully.
~ Hi Kevin and Kristen, I am so glad that my husband and I came to the inaugural K2 Foundation dinner...it was fantastic and Erik left us speechless. Congrats on a great event....more good things to come I"m sure."
