As a parent, watching your child make new friends, learn new things, and have a carefree day at the gym with professionally trained supervision is a wonderful occasion. When parents have a child with a disability or a terminal condition, participating in gymnastics is something that’s often unavailable to their children. We set out to change this unfortunate reality.
K2 Adventures Foundation partners with Arizona Sunrays, who allow us access to their fully adaptive facility and trained staff. The staff provides adaptive instruction based on individual skill levels.
This program provides children, ages 3 to 10, the opportunity to join their peers in the gym for a few hours of challenging, inviting activities focusing on fun, safety, and skill acquisitions. There is so much to do at this event, including an obstacle course consisting of rolling, rocking, crawling and climbing on a soft-type of apparatus, along with a parachute, foam pit, tumble track and trampoline!
K2 Gymnastics began in 2016 and we host this one-of-a-kind program once per quarter throughout the year.
With your support, we can continue to give children the opportunity to participate in gymnastics.
